The Movado N. Museum Collection is regarded as an icon of Modernism, and features design simplicity unrivaled in the history of time-keeping. Conceived as an interpretation of time as it was measured before the dawn of watch making, when man still looked to the passage of the sun across the sky to mark the hours of his days, the Movado Museum dial is defined by a single dot at 12 representing the sun at high noon. It was designed by Bauhaus-influenced artist Nathan George Horwitt in 1947. When Horwitt's dial was selected for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 1960, it was the first watch dial ever awarded this distinction. The name "Museum Watch" derives from this recognition. Paired with sleek, simple cases, highly polished stainless steel bracelets and fine leather straps, the Movado N. Museum Collection is driven by precision Swiss-quartz movement. Protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, these iconic timepieces are water resistant to 30m. |
