In 1950, the company mass-produced its first wristwatch, named the “New Orient”. Its immediate success cemented the brand’s future and the company rebranded itself as the Orient Watch company. Later that same year, the brand introduced their famed Orient Star watch and quickly earned distinction in the luxury watch market.

During the quartz crisis in the 1970s, many companies opted for cheaply made battery-powered alternatives. However, the Orient Watch company remained true to its core values.
