Salvatore Ferragamo Sunglasses

Salvatore Ferragamo is an Italian luxury goods company headquartered in Florence, Italy. Named after its founder, Salvatore Ferragamo, the company actually has its roots in the United States, as the shoemaker set up shop in Hollywood, California in the 1910s. Ferragamo designed shoes for some of the biggest stars of Hollywood’s silent era and beyond, from Greta Garbo to Joan Crawford.

After making a name for himself in the United States, Ferragamo moved back to Italy in 1927 and set up a new shoe shop the following year. Even though Ferragamo spent years working in Hollywood, 1928 is often regarded as the official start of his luxury brand. Despite financial hardships during the Great Depression, Salvatore Ferragamo found great success in the 1930s, even purchasing a palace in Florence to serve as the company’s new headquarters.

By the time Salvatore Ferragamo passed away in 1960, he had already built a sustainable business empire. The shoemaker’s widow, Wanda Ferragamo, helped build the brand even further. She spearheaded campaigns to move beyond simple leather goods, creating luxury shades, perfume, clothing, bags, and watches. Today, Salvatore Ferragamo remains in the Ferragamo family, offering a wide range of high-end men’s and women’s products to consumers around the world.

Salvatore Ferragamo Sunglass Collections

Salvatore Ferragamo offers eyewear and shades in a variety of colors and styles. Though they are often marketed to women, Salvatore Ferragamo also features dozens of distinct designs for men. No matter what style you are looking for, Salvatore Ferragamo is bound to have something that meets your needs. Salvatore Ferragamo sunglasses provide the perfect touch of luxury and opulence to just about any look.

The Cat Eye collection offers popular retro designs that recall movie stars of the 1950s and 60s. They come with various temple designs, ranging from thick and accented to thin and understated. That said, all Cat Eye sunglasses feature frames with pointed, upturned end pieces.

Though not the original creator of the design, Salvatore Ferragamo’s Aviator collection offers sleek, functional, and stylish sunglasses for both men and women. The standard frames are connected by a signature top bar and bridge. Lens colors range from jet black to rose. Though they feature straighter lines in their frames, the Square (or Squared) collection includes a similarly fashionable design.

Finally, the Oversized Round collection is aptly named, as it features sunglasses with large, round lenses. Some shades in this collection include a top bar for additional support, while others rely on a minimalist bridge and nose pads.
