Frederique Constant Watches

Though the Frederique Constant brand of men’s and women’s watches does not have a long history, it has still managed to make waves on the international market. Established in 1988 by Aletta Stas-Bax and Peter Stas, Frederique Constant is one of the youngest watch manufacturers to compete with more well-established brands. In any case, it would take Aletta and Peter four years before they launched their first collection of signature watches. The first collection consisted of six distinct watches, all made in Geneva using the latest Swiss watchmaking techniques.

The brand’s name comes from the grandparents of the company’s two founders: Frederique Schreiner and Constant Stas. The latter figure started his own timepiece parts company at the turn of the 20th Century, providing clock dials to watch manufacturers. From their grandfathers’ success, Peter Stas and Aletta were able to build a high-quality watch brand that honors the values and quality craftsmanship of their ancestors.

Frederique Constant doesn’t just rest on the laurels of its forebears, though. Since it doesn’t have a long history, Frederique Constant has had to distinguish itself from the competition through advanced technology and unique designs for both men and women. The brand’s most famous innovation came with the development of the “Heart Beat'' manufacture in 2001.

Since the debut of its first collection in 1992, Frederique Constant has released dozens of signature collections. Not only do many of these watches make use of proprietary timekeeping technology, but they also feature sleek, modern designs. The Classics, Runabout, and Slimline collections are three of Frederique Constant’s most popular luxury watch lines. As the name implies, Classics takes inspiration from traditional styles by using a round, stainless steel casing set against a jet-black watch face. Both the Runabout and Slimline feature similar designs, though they offer both light and dark backgrounds.

If you’re looking for more features with your wristwatch, the Geneve and Moonphase collections include multifunction chronographs. With these watches, you can easily keep track of the time, date, day of the week, and more. As an added bonus, every Geneve and Moonphase watch face is accompanied by a leather or alligator skin band.

The Horological Smartwatch collection reflects the brand’s first foray into smartwatch technology. At first glance, the Horological Smartwatch looks like a watch from the Classics or Slimline collections. However, it includes a small screen that pairs with a smartwatch application on your phone to display news, weather, and even updates about your health.

The Worldtimer might be Frederique Constant’s most innovative and stylish watch to date. Featuring a world map as the background, the Worldtimer is the ideal GMT watch to use while you travel. Rather than using a standard bezel with time markers, the Worldtimer features the names of major cities in every time zone. This makes it easier to use the GMT function without having to calculate the difference in hours.
